A Memorable Monday Surf & Culture Report
Lost Boys & Co...
An absolutely fabulous paddle out for Kevin Sousa yesterday. Great music, heartfelt remembrances, and a paddleout that probably had two to three hundred people, while the Lifeguards said there were about 2,000 folks on the beach! Check out the attached video for a glimpse of the Baywatch cooling down the assembled paddlers!
A beautiful morning as winds continued to diminish and the sea surface ended up being pretty smooth. Visibility was +20 miles and skies were clear. The air was a chilly 58.3º (which didn't seem to faze Burnsy, who, because of a failed wetsuit zipper, barebacked it!) and the water was 61.5º. We keep seeing Valella Valella (common name: By-the-wind Sailors) and that is supposed to mean the water will be getting warmer. We're waiting... Low tide was at 9:48am +1.3' and high tide fills up at 5:03pm +4.5'. We have a 3.6' swell out of the west (262º) and it was 3' to 4' and some fun surf for the assembled crew!
