Attached you will find a great shot of the Coast Guard Vessel "Bertholf" with an helicopter landing on the aft pad. What you can't see is DC Chiaramonte, making sure that everything is level for a perfect landing. He's down there below decks somewhere. Is that his hat? Out on the ocean's surface we have a beautiful day with 15 miles visibility and a bit of haze on the water. Winds are calm and the sea surface is glassy. The air temperature is 62.4f and the water is 64.8f. We're still wearing a spring suit, but as soon as it gets cloudy... ZIP!! High tide is at 5:45am +3.8' and low tide will be not much different at 9:51am +3.2'. The buoy is reading 3.0' and the surf is in the 3' to 4' range. We surfed Torrance this morning with TJ and hung out at his favorite break "Speedies." There were some good waves, but they took their time showing up. Good morning yachtsmen, canoeistas and pedal boat captains. You are so hot! Great duds. 12 miles visibility this morning under overcast skies that suggest they might not make it to noon, before breaking up. The winds are offshore by 3.2kts and the sea surface is glassy. The air temperature is 63.9f and the water is 67.8f. High tide will be at 6:20am +3.5' and with hardly any change at all low tide sinks in at 9:01am at 3.4'. The surf is reading 3.0' at the buoy and hitting the beach about the same height. It's not looking good right now, but the tide is kinda stuck in the mid-threes. Maybe later... This weekend was firing off some nice little squirters. We took some snaps, so we'll share those during the week. Let's start with one of Danger Boy. He does have his moments! So here we are on the this side of the Pacific Ocean and at some point this evening we're supposing we'll be out in the middle somewhere, with any luck, attached to an island. But for now here comes the surf report of good old Redondo! Stand ready... Under overcast skies we have 3 miles visibility and quite a bit of haze along the coast. Winds are out of the SSE at 2.3kts and the sea surface is glassy to smooth. The air temp is 63.5f and the water is 68.0f. High tide is at 10:05am +4.3' and low tide will follow at 2:52pm +2.0'. The buoy is reading 3.6' and the resulting surf is 2' and at the moment not looking too momentous. Okay! We'll be following Danger Boy & Girl across this lake and we'll be spending the night in Princeville awaiting the dawn and a shot at some early morning Hawaiian/Kauaiian surf.
