Red Sky At Night Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Okay, so we can’t go in the front door because this (#1) coatrack of an ungulate is blocking the entrance.  Sorry, this is a noble beast and he is merely asserting his natural inclinations to sit on a concrete stoop in the middle of the forest.  Fresh from watching bison run down tourists in Yellowstone and throw them into the woods, we imagined we’d give this knife-hoofed buck plenty of room.  So, we went around back.  There were TWO on the back stoop… We retired to the beach…

We’re in Idaho, right?  We often call our colleagues at the beach to make sure our reporting is accurate and timely.  Should you get one of these calls, you don’t have to answer should you be indisposed.  Like doing your make-up, getting dressed or sitting on the can.  We will not name names.  Okay?  Okay.  There’s 10 miles visibility under partly cloudy skies and winds are out of the WNW by 3 to 6kts and the sea surface is smooth.  The air temp is 70.1º and the water is 72.1º.  Low tide is at 8:29am +2.3’ and high tide follows at 3:58pm +5.4’.  It’s our usual SSW swell out of 208º at 2.3’ and it’s 2’ on the beach.  Doc did us a solid this morning by providing us with a shot of the south side of the pier (#2).

So we’ll be heading out this evening from the land of smokes.  Not the best for breathing, but some spectacular sunsets (#3).  We’ll be hanging with Bruddah Miloe at Brother’s after we take a short paddle.  Join up for some amusing banter and cultural updates.
