Thermal Moon Jelly Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co... M oon Jellies are already graceful and elegant, but we thought we'd add a bit electricity to their appearance (#1)... 12  miles visibility this morning under partly cloudy skies.  Winds were light out of the SSW and kicked up to around 3 to 8kts at 9am.  The air temp was 55.0 º  and the water is 61.3 º .  High tide was at 9:36am +4.0' and low tide follows at 2:51pm +1.3'.  It's a SSW swell out of 192 º  at 2.6' and it was 3' to 4' breaking pretty close to the beach. " L ook!  It's an asteroidea echinodermata !  First one I've seen in captivity... (#2) T o do Doc's surgery it was necessary to pump air into his thoracic cavity so they could see their way to patch him up.  When he got out the first thing he did was try on his wetsuit (#3).  Really emphasizes the Flashbomb stretch, doesn't it...  Swelling is supp...

Our Hovercraft Is Full Of Eels Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co... A  beautiful morn ing this, with 13 miles visibility and soft offshore winds 1 to 3kts.  The sea surface was smooth.  The air temperature was 52.2 º  and the water has dropped ever so slightly to 60.8 º .  High tide was at 8:54am +4.2' and low tide will be at 2:27pm +1.0'.  It's a 2.3' swell out of 199 º  SSW.  It was in the 3' range and you can look over Abbey's shoulder (#1) at a couple of zippers rolling through... A nother trip to the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium with the Miloe's and the Leao's lead by our undersea expert Jose Bacallao.  Among other things we spotted this blue eyed eel (#2) cruising along the bottom of the touching tank.  We decided the eel wasn't for touching and headed for the anemones... S ounds like the familia is hitting it manana, so grab your favorite whip and make the scene.  Donnie's, Annaland and the Office...
