Thermal Moon Jelly Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Moon Jellies are already graceful and elegant, but we thought we'd add a bit electricity to their appearance (#1)...

12 miles visibility this morning under partly cloudy skies.  Winds were light out of the SSW and kicked up to around 3 to 8kts at 9am.  The air temp was 55.0º and the water is 61.3º.  High tide was at 9:36am +4.0' and low tide follows at 2:51pm +1.3'.  It's a SSW swell out of 192º at 2.6' and it was 3' to 4' breaking pretty close to the beach.

"Look!  It's an asteroidea echinodermata!  First one I've seen in captivity... (#2)

To do Doc's surgery it was necessary to pump air into his thoracic cavity so they could see their way to patch him up.  When he got out the first thing he did was try on his wetsuit (#3).  Really emphasizes the Flashbomb stretch, doesn't it...  Swelling is supposed to go down in a few weeks...
