Fatidic Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

These were a few of the boards they had at Bob Meistrell's paddle out commemorating his (and his brother's) career.  They were really nice, but Birdie said they were difficult to glass...  The pictures also cover that cool balsa...

A gorgeous fall day masquerading as summer!  20+ miles visibility under clear skies.  Winds were calm for most of the morning and the sea surface was smooth with a slight roll.  The air temp was 64.2˚ and the water was a splendid 68.2˚.  High tide was at 9:15am +5.7' and low tide follows at 3:37pm +0.3'.  We have a west swell out of 252˚ at 3.6' and it's catching us straight on.  We'll call it 4' to 5' and Hermosa had some stand-up faces, with corners on every 5th wave or so.  We saw Capt. Donnie, Rasta Pete, Danger Boy and the Professor along with a few truants and hangers-on.  The lefts seemed to be a bit better than the rights, but both were there for the patient.

Happy hour tonight at Zane's on the corner of Hermosa Blvd. and Pier Ave.  We're not going to tell you what corner, you'll have to find it on your own...
