Their, They're, There Thursday Surf & Culture Report
Lost Boys & Co...
Someone sent us a collection of photos from C.J. Kale. Although he does some interesting local scenic work (photo #2,) he has gained some considerable notoriety for taking photos of the lava flowing into the sea on the Big Island. This is a little dicier than you might think, since the water temp can get up to the boiling and beyond range. One mistake and you become "Photographer Thermidor."
Quite a bit cooler in the water here in the So. Bay. We have cloudy skies and 6 miles visibility. Winds were offshore at 2.5kts and the sea surface was smooth with a bit of short-period swell roll. The air temp was 58.5˚ and the water is 63.1˚. Low tide is at 11:04am +0.4' and high tide will follow at 5:52pm +5.0'. We have a SSW swell out of 202˚ at 3.9' and it's 3' to 4' and needs either more or less tide... You decide...
Tomorrow will be the last regular report for a couple of weeks, barring the rogue post from locations from Northern Ireland to Morocco... Not billed as a surf trip, the possibilities lurk with intent to loom. "Yes, Virginia, there is surf in Morocco..."
