Fly Away Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

So, like always, everyone wants to know how the surf was...  Photo #1.  Gives some indication of the playing field.  A good wave (like the one Ché is on here) is about 200 yards.  A really good one is 300 yards, but then you have to paddle your ass all the way back.  Or you can do like Wheatley in photo #2 and go a hundred yards, but travel 200 and save the paddle out...

Here this morning we have clear skies and 20+ miles visibility.  Winds were on from the start at 4.7kts and the sea surface had a slight bump.  The air temp was 72.6˚ and the water is 67.8˚, but felt a bit warmer in the surf line.  Low tide was early at 5:35am +1.2' and high tide will follow at 11:57am +5.0'.  We have a SSW swell out of 195˚ at 5.9' and it's enough to create some 3' to 4' waves at our beaches...  Looks like a great beach day!
