"Victory at Sea" was a popular documentary show (#1) that aired during the 50's and later was edited into a 90 minute film that was wildly popular even some of the countries that had been at war against the U.S.! The opening credits of the show featured a destroyer cutting through heavy seas to the strains of "Ride of the Valkyries". By the time you finished listening to the Richard Rodgers soundtrack, you were ready to invade a small country single-handed... We always referred to "Victory at Sea" as rough seas like they showed in the opening...
Then of course we have our own version in #'s 2 & 3. The only guy out from Rat to Hermosa was this one kite boarder in #3...
Well, it's windy. Blowing steady at 10 to 15kts and gusts to the mid-twenties. High clouds with 10 miles visibility. The sea surface is white capped, with the air at 47 and the water at 60.3. High tide was early at 4:08am +4.6' and low tide will be at 12:00pm +0.7' setting up for some minus tide in the pm for the rest of the week. We have a wild NNW swell out of 335º at 7.9' and it's 6' to 8' easy, with some bigger outsides...
