Happy Birthday to Snow Paw (#1)...  1 year old today...  No candles, only high beams...

Clear skies and 20+ miles visibility this morning.  Offshore winds at 4kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temperature was 55.9 and the water is 60.6.  High tide was at 9:08am +3.8' and low tide is at 2:25pm +1.4'.  We have a SSW swell out of 206º at 3.6' and it was 3' to 4' with some nice high tide peaks...

Kira Bones (#2) got the dump today on a left slider at Sapphire.  She got some serious body English on take off and then did a rather graceful spinner before walking to the nose...

Would be nice to be back in Mexico (#3) right about now.  Not very much news coming from the south.  Some reports suggest they got slammed pretty hard wit h the virus earlier this month.  Whatever, looks like a great place to quarantine...

Lost Boys & Co... W e talked about how much building is going on in China.  There are so many new bridges across the Yangtze that they haven't named them all yet!  There are between 50 and a hundred going up between Yichang and Chongqing alone.  In our first photo, the bridge and road are so new that the road crosses the bridge and then doesn't go anywhere!  We watched them welding the superstructure in #2 and to our amazement we watched a guy put on a belt with eyes on the hips and get hoisted up a couple of hundred feet to near the top of this tower.  No nets, no additional straps, no hat - just flying there with a portable welding rig, sparks flying.  We actually saw guys spot welding stuff without dark glasses!  There are some tough guys up there!  Dude, you like gotta have a hat... A beautiful morning, with a few big clouds bumping along and 20 miles visibility.  Winds started onshore from the crack and they were light at checkout...

Another Foggy Friday Surf & Culture Report

Sometimes On Friday/Saturday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co... G reat group at Siblings Burrito Palace this morning! (#1)  Caroline joined us all the way from Atwater to catch a few gray ones. C loudy and 12 miles visibility.  Winds were light out of the south by 2 to 3kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temp was 58.0 º and the water was 61.5 º .  Low tide was at 8:26am -0.6' and high tide follows at 4:00pm +3.4'.  SSW swell out of 202 º at 2.6' and it was 3' and some sharp little gray grinders... S mall surf doesn't have to mean lousy surf.  Here (#2) we have Sheamus Swift showing what you can do when you put your mind to it.  Sheamus got first place in the longboard division against Mira Costa on Thursday! ✠ "When the surf breaks, we'll fix it" The Professor!!
