Thornbush Thursday Surf & Culture Report
Looking from the lanai out past Canoes, to Pop's and beyond. Kinda looks like the world's largest wave pool. Shot number 2 is from "Duke's Barefoot Bar" looking toward Diamond Head, just a little after sunset. One of those views of which you never get tired...
Windier this morning than yesterday and a bit choppier, from the west at 7.5kts, with low clouds and some overcast. 5 miles visibility. The air temp was 67.1° and the water is continuing to drop. It's a chilly 61.0° (like November temps!) High tide at 10:54am +5.0' and low tide will follow at 4:48pm +1.3'. The best news is that the buoy has jumped to 4.3' out of 192° SSW. There are some waves in the 3' to 5' range, but it's chopped up and not the best shape. Maybe tomorrow if things even out...
This is true...
Long ago a momma shark and baby shark were swimming along…
They came across a group of shipwreck survivors…
The momma shark said to the baby shark…
Lets swim around them 4 or 5 times before we eat them…
So the momma shark and the baby shark swam around the terrified survivors 5 times…
Then they ate all the survivors… (which effectively ended their status as survivors... Ed.)
After they were finished eating all the survivors, the baby shark asked the momma shark;
Momma why did we circle them 5 times before we ate them?
And the momma shark explained;
Because they taste better without the $#it inside!
At least that is my story and I'm stickin to it… P-))
Aloha, Murf
(The Professor has contemplated filing for Italian citizenship, but it turns out they want him less than the Portagees! Albania has yet to respond... Ed.)
Hiya Professor!
(It's actually 97.3%, but I'm working on the additional 2.7%. I've come to the realization that a lot of folks retire to do nothing. I retired so I could do something! Good luck on the new school year. Your students are lucky to have such a talented, famous instructor! The Professor!!)
I like the Ukulele shot - it's a classic!
TJ
(Do you know how fast we had to run after we grabbed those ukes? We barely had time to take the picture. For such big guys they were fast! Ed.)
Photo #3. Fish hiding in spiky-thorny coral. Don't touch! Yeah, we got that...
"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
