Lost Boys & Co...

A year ago today we were grabbing some high tide windswell bumping through the office (#'s 1 & 2). Hard to catch, but great for longboarders!

But today we've got hazy sun warming from 55º to 79º and soft offshore winds 2 to 3kts.  The sea surface was smooth.  Water is still coming up from the wind assisted low and was 57.6º, although the surface temperature felt closer to 60.  Low tide was at 8:25am +0.2' and high tide fills in at 3:05pm +2.7'.  We have a playful SSW swell out of 203º at 2.0' and it was 2' to 3' and some fine longboard sliding!

Sherman, the Wayback®!  How about 1972 (#3) and the crew was posting up at the Topaz house for dinner after an afternoon surf.  Clockwise from back left:  Boomfwappa, the Professor, LoLa and Julia.  Looking like refugees from a Grateful Dead concert, Boomfwappa was riding a Rick, Barry Kaniapuni 3 stringer cut down to a rocket and the Professor had shaped a 5'11" lime green squash-tail he called "Wheels of Fire".  It had a 5" fin and he could do forehand wraps and land about 1 out of 10...  Wish we had those knees...
