Water Hammer Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

A beautiful morning as the faithful, or fitful as it might be, gathered to check out the surf.  Here (#1) we have a Jetski view of LoLa, Jimmy Utah and the Professor.  Unfortunately, there wasn't much to see.  Unless you count this little peeler (#2) that slipped through despite the lack of swell and the full tide...)

10 miles visibility and offshore winds at 4.7kts bringing the 40º temp down to the 30's.  The water is 59.5.  High tide was at 6:29am +6.0' and low tide will drain out a -0.4' at 1:39pm.  So, except for that little wave we managed to collect it was 1.6' out of the SSW 213º, and we're going to call it flat...

Meanwhile, outside of Denver there's this period restaurant called "The Buckhorn Exchange."  They have just about every manner of stuffed bird, amphibian, reptile and quadruped of which you can think.  In photo #3 we have Boomfwappa ensconced in the "Water Buffalo" room.  By the time you leave and after being plied with all manner of drink, meat and dessert, you too are stuffed...

Then there's the Red Rock Amphitheater (#4).  We personally refused to be seated until they removed the snow from the seats.  They told us that would be about May, but they wouldn't make any hard promises...  If Emmylou plays there ever again, we shall make our way...

Happy hour this week will be at Patrick Malloy's.  They have promised to bring in the heaters, but grass skirts, coconut brassieres and Hawaiian shirts are discouraged...  Not forbidden, mind you, just discouraged...  5:30 and you get to sit by your favorite Surf Familia member...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it"
