Lost Boys & Co... A  small fortune in sand dollars (#1) awaits the intrepid diver...  The Mermaids are famous for their hauls... S unny, hot and windless.  Visibility 23 miles.  Water temperature is 73.6 º  and felt delightful.  High tide is at 7:40am +4.9' and low tide arrives at 1:08pm +1.9'.  It's a SSW swell at 2.6' and it was 2' on the sand and wasn't as clear as we'd have hoped... R egard the mat in (#2).  On Saturday last we swam and used it to change.  We forgot to put it back in the bus, much to our chagrin.  On Monday afternoon we came roaring into the parking lot stopped in our usual place and our mat was right where we left it.  We greeted this with some fanfare and immediately bought lottery tickets... ✠   "When the surf breaks, we'll fix it" The Professor!!

W e were looking for something to blame the poor surf on and we thought, "Maybe Mercury (#1) is in retrograde!"  Well, it's not and why we thought Mercury would have any effect on the surf smacks of the ridiculous.   G iven all of that, it was a beautiful morning and 18 miles visibility with some ambient haze.  Winds were light offshore 1 to 3kts and the sea surface was glassy.  The air at checkout was a toasty 69.0 º  and the water is 73.6 º .  High tide was at 7:12am +4.4' and low tide will be at 12:13pm +2.6'.  It's a 2.3' SSW swell out of 206 º  and it's 1' to 2' on the sand (#2).  Predictably clear, if you haven't been taking a dip you're missing a great opportunity to score some warm water and warmer air. ✠☿ "When the surf breaks, we'll fix it" The Professor!!

Thomas Campbell L ots of flowers this morning at Topaz/RCO.  A sizable crowd sent Tio Ted off on the South Bay's version of a Viking funeral.  The Baywatch sprayed the participants and there were stories galore.  If we get some more pics we'll run them later this week, but here we have Ronnie, the Professor and Billy Mac all in roses... A beautiful morning with 15 miles visibility and clear skies.  Winds were light offshore and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temp was 65.9 º , warming quickly, and the water is 73.0 º .  Low tide was at 6:11am +3.1' and high tide followed at 1:32pm +5.5'.  We have a SSW swell out of 195 º  at 2.6' and it was 2' on the beach... G reat day for fishing, sailing or clam digging.  9miles visibility under overcast skies.  Winds were light onshore at checkout 1 to 2kts.  The air temp was 69.0 º  and the water is 73.2 º.  Low tide was at 5:33am +2.6' and high tide follows at 122:24pm +5.9'.  It's a 2.3' swell out of the SW, 223 º .  The surf is about half that... Sir Billy Connolly N ot that Danger Boy's run of injuries is in jeopardy, but Doc (#1) is making a credible run for the crown (even though it might be broken at this point.)  His first person account is troubling given the fact that he couldn't decide which way was up.  Getting smacked up the side of the head will do that to you.  Needless to say he figured that out, but was in turns oriented and disoriented.  The capable Burnsy, hailed the lifeguard who took his sweet time responding.  All his vitals checked out and there was no blood, although he said he couldn't hear out of his left ear. Questionable before the incident.  Donnie deftly commented, "You have to choose better waves!" T his mosaic (#1) is on the corner of 10th and the Strand, on the wall of the Sea Sprite.  It's meaning is a mystery and may be the key to unlocking other secrets.  B$ concurs, so it's up to you to help us out... 11 miles visibility under mostly clear skies.  Winds are annoyingly onshore 2 to 4kts.  The sea surface is tacked.  The air temperature at checkout was 64.9 º  and the water is 73.4 º .  These temps aren't going to last so jump in sooner than later...  High tide is at 10:25am +6.1' and low tide will be at 5:08pm +0.1'.  Unbelievably, the swell is 3.0' out of 160 º  SSE!  How is that possible?  It's 2' on the sand and not short or longboard friendly... Lost Boys & Co... W elcome sports fans!  Big full moon tonight, so look up! 10  miles visibility under overcast skies.  Winds wre light on and the sea surface was smooth. The air temp was 67.6 º  and the water is a nice 73.0 º .  High tide was at 9:10am +5.3' and low tide followed at 3:)7pm +0.9'.  SSW swell from 205 º  at 3.0' and it was half that on the beach.  Looks like some pulsing locally, but this morning the Breakwall looked like this (#1).  Had to get used to seeing the pier from this angle (#2). ✠ "When the surf breaks, we'll fix it" The Professor!!

David Byrne O vercast, with 5 miles visibility.  Winds were light offshore and changed early to 1 to 3kts on.  The air temp was 68.0 º  and the water is 72.9 º .  High tide is at 8:50am +4.9' and low tide follows at 2:33pm +1.4'.  It's a SSW swell out of 199 º  at 2.3' and it's 1' to 2' and breaking on the sand.  Not wanting to give in that easily after seeing Hermosa (#1), we rode up to Marine and found that it wasn't better, only stretched out!
