L ost Boys & Co... Y ou never know who you're going to run into at Brother's of an early morning...  Fresh from a Gene Autry look-a-like contest and mending fence, we have Super Cute Rich striking his award winning pose.  He ropes, rides and sings.  Sometimes with three fillies in the same night...  yee-haww!  Giddy-up... ANOTHER gorgbeautious day!  Cloudless skies and you can see as far as you want.  Winds are calm and the sea surface is glassed to it's highest reflectant coefficient.  Air temp is 65.1˚ and the water is 65.7˚.  High tide at 8:38am +6.1' and low tide will follow at 3:06pm +-0.0'.  We have a SW swell out of 215˚ at 2.0' and it's half that in the surf line.  Maybe maƱana... ✠ "When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."  The Professor!!

Lost Boys & Co... T his dear reader is an "oarfish."  A young woman was snorkeling in Catalina when she saw this specimen looking up at her from the bottom.  The advantages to seeing something like this when you're snorkeling are several:  no one can hear you scream, when you wet your pants it's too late - they're already wet and it looks bigger under water.  If you're brave you just might make sure it's not going to bite and drag it in.  This will stop all the loose talk on-shore at Luau Larry's.  This fellow measured out at 18 feet.  The longest?  A 56 foot long macker in Scotland...  Aye, Angus it was a bonnie boney fish...  Y et another summer day in a fall that refuses to play by the rules.  20+miles visibility and cloudless skies.  Winds were zephyr-like offshore and the sea surface was glassy.  The air temperature was 65.3˚ and so was the water.  High tide was at 8:07am +5.9' and low tide will be at 2:25p...

Lost Boys & Co... W e have often suggested that there is a magazine/website/store for everything.  So if you happen to be a shaper this is just the place for you.  Located on the big corner of Palms and Centinela, it's just close enough to invite a field trip!  We're betting our shaper buddies already know about it, but Suzanne found it on one of her trips outside the bubble... I t started out with all the tell-tale indications of a warm day and made good on all of them.  Cloudless skies and 20+ miles visibility, while offshore winds wafted across the glassy sea surface at 3.3kts.  The air temperature was 60.6˚ and the water was 65.5˚ and felt quite accommodating.  High tide was at 7:34am +5.5' and low tide will be at 1:41pm +0.9' as we head for minus afternoon tides later in the week.  We have a weak SSW swell out of 203˚ at 1.6'.  That's making for some miniature knee knockers that actually were kinda fun if you decided to paddle a bit... ...

Lost Boys & Co... T his is as close as you can get until the government decides to pay the Park Service to keep her open... C loudless skies and 20+ miles visibility.  Winds were calm and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temperature was a brisk 56.6˚ and the water was 65.5˚, but seemed warmer by comparison.  High tide was at 6:59am +5.1' and low tide was at 12:51pm +1.6'.  We have a weak SSW swell out of 207˚ at 2.3' and you'll need a nice long piece of foam to make that work for you...  Forecast isn't looking great, but maybe a little better as we limp through the week...  ✠ "When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."  The Professor!!

Lost Boys & Co...   S o, you know how you're walking along in Hermosa and someone has left the door to the patio opened a crack...  Whoa, dude... A nother sun drenched day after a stellar evening.  15 miles visibility and calm winds, with a smooth rolling sea surface.  The air temp was 57.2˚ and the water was 66.0˚, but felt a couple of degrees warmer in the chilly air.  A rather full low tide at 8:32am +3.0' and high tide will follow at 2:49pm +5.1'.  We have a SSW swell out of 200˚ true at 2.6' and the surf is in the 2' to 3' range.  Could be fun this weekend!  See you in the water... ✠ "When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."  The Professor!!

Lost Boys & Co... Y ou know how people always say something like, "Isn't this the BEST lasagna you've ever had?"  Or "Isn't my grandchild the cutest thing?"  Maybe even, "Fido is just the smartest pooch ever!"  Well, this was the best lasagna we've ever had.  This guy was a chef in New York before he returned to El Salvador to run the local radio station.  He cooked this up for Danger Boy's birthday and three helpings later none of us could move... A fter our attempt at weather yesterday, we have gorgeous clear skies and unlimited visibility.  Winds were offshore and brisk and the sea surface was brushed, but smooth.  The air temp took a real dip to 52.9˚ and the water was 66.2˚ at the buoy.  The air is almost 10 degrees cooler this morning than yesterday and at Hermosa Pier the water temp was 63˚!  Capt. Mike Enscore said he wouldn't have been convinced, but he took it himself.  Low tide was at 6:50am +2.8' and high t...

Lost Boys & Co... O kay, we have to admit that we did sneak a look at the sunset before it disappeared completely... C loudy this morning, with trace amounts of rain falling at various times throughout the day.  10 miles visibility.  Winds were out of the South this morning at 8.5kts and the sea surface was choppy, becoming more so as the day progressed.  The air temperature was 61.9˚ and the water was 67.8˚, driven down a smidge by the wind.  Still felt a lot warmer than the air.  Low tide was at 5:49am +2.4' and high tide will be at 12:18pm +5.7'.  We have a rising west swell out of 267˚ at 3.0' and by afternoon it should be in the 5+' range.  It was 3' to 5' and pretty ragged this morning.  If the wind subsides early, it could be interesting in the morning!  Check'em out!  ✠ "When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."  The Professor!!
