A beautiful fall morning with 20+ miles visibility and clearing skies. Winds were lightly onshore by 1.2kts and the sea surface was smooth and wet to the touch. The air temperature was 65.5˚ and the water was 70.9˚. High tide was at 9:29am +5.2' and low tide will be at 3:33pm +0.9'. We have a fluctuating west swell out of 251˚ and it was 3.0' this morning and about 2' in the surfline...
There seems to be a bit of confusion about the equinox. It was listed as September 23, 2:29 UTC. That translates to 7:29pm September 22 in Los Angeles! So, if your calendar says September 23, it's a little off for our GPS location.
Check out the positioning of the feet. Both are perpendicular to the stringer, weight a little forward and knees bent for maximum projection. A lesson in basics. Our subject, none other than James Wheatley!
