Lost Boys & Co... S ometimes you're praying for surf and suddenly you find yourself in San Onofre and it's a solid 4' with bigger outsides.  People are on 10'+ logs flying around like nobody's business and you're just trying to find a spot where you can get some waves and try this whole new place out.  I can can be a challenge, daunting and often discouraging, but if you keep trying, sooner or later it all comes together...  And if not here, some other place that's just right for you...  We've all been there...  (photo:  LoLa for The Existential Church Of Chumash Bingo ) P artly cloudy this morning with 10 miles visibility.  Winds were light onshore to 3.2kts and the sea surface started out smooth, but got progressively bumpy as the morning waned.  The air temp was in the 70's and the water was 72.1˚.  High tide was at 9:51am +4.3' and low tide followed at 2:53pm +1.7'.  We enjoyed a SSW swell out of 209˚ at 3.3'  but there were...

Lost Boys & Co... A friend of Robin Fenlon, Keala Kennelly managed to get towed into this yawning monster at Teahupoo.  Absolutely incredible, it kinda hits you in the pit of your stomach every time you look at it...  So we can imagine getting towed in, but how do you get out?  That looks like a problem of major proportions...  like getting washed over the reef, surviving the surge and not getting hit by a boat full of photogs... R asta Pete is the apex Hermosa local.  He said he'd never seen so many people on the pier.  We concur.  So we walked out on the pier to see just who was out there...  We walked all the way out to the Mark Levy plaque and didn't recognize anyone.  So we turned around and about halfway back we ran into CoConut and we all embraced, afraid to let go less we lose each other.  Then we saw Bobby Warchola and Bob Thomas and decided we could make a run for it...  Those crossfit folks are scary...
