Terigenous Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

For all you train spotters out there, we thought we'd throw in this painting/graffito (#1) by Risk Rock who's currently displayed at the VEFA art gallery.  We showed this to Clarke and he said, "Yeah, I know that guy's stuff!"  He's seen it on the trains coming in and out of the port.  Lots more surf related art.  The show goes on until January 6th.  Gallery is opened Wednesday through Sunday from 12 to 8pm.

Another Beautiful morning here in Lala Land.  Hazy sun and a fog bank waiting far out on the horizon.  Winds were offshore and the sea surface3 was smooth.  The air was a chilly 48.7º and the water is 59.5º.  High tide was at 9:16am +6.1' and low tide will be at 5:01pm -0.6'.  We'd tell you to go beach combing, but the sunset is 4:44pm, making it a bit dark to pick out the best stuff.  It's a WSW swell out of 248º at 3.3' and it was again 3' to 4' with some stout outsides.  Again Christian threw himself into the carnage and got some great tubes, but didn't make it out of most of them...

Contest on Friday at Hermosa south side of the pier.  Redondo vs Peninsula and Santa Monica vs Chadwick.  Contest starts at 6:30am for some outstanding prep surfing!

Note:  This morning we were on the pier and the parking guy came rolling up and announced that they are going to start citing people with their dogs on the pier!  It's a $250 fine!  They can't be on the sand or on the pier.  Yes, there are signs, but until now they never enforced the ban.  We're not quite sure how the pier is any different than the strand for dogs, but the local constabulary thinks so.  Maybe we have to ask the city council?
