Lost Boys & Co... N othing is quite as scary as a witch on a bicycle (#1), since we've all seen the Wizard of Oz and we know that where the witches are there must be flying monkeys.  We followed them to breakfast (#2) and just as we suspected they were munching on ginger bread and bits of what looked like small peanut butter cups, but could have been carnitas...  Let's go with carnitas... H eavy fog that parted as we made our way to the beach this morning, leaving partly cloudy skies.  Winds were offshore at 3 to 4kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temperature was 59.1º and the water is 65.8º.  High tide was at 5:10am +3.7' and low tide was almost identical with a +3.5' at 7:57am.  We had a SW swell out of 216º at 3.3' and it was 3' to 4' with some long sections that kept our crew on their toes... Lost Boys & Co... H alloween is bearing down upon us and we thought you might need some inspiration.  We'll start out with something simple, as in dressing up and not really getting into the face-painting, heavy coustumery.  So it's the Professor as the Lonesome Stranger and Jetski as Lebowski (#1).  In case you're doubting the effectiveness of this approach, when Sam Elliot saw this he thought it was a credible attempt... A nother day with this well manicured west swell.  15 Miles visibility and cloudy skies.  Winds were consistent off-shore at 3 to 5kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temp was 54.3º and the water is 66.4º.  High tide was at 10:24am +6.5' and low tide was at 5:37pm -0.5'.  275º out of the west at 3.3' and it broke 3' to 4' through the high tide and most of the morning... T here's always the theme approach.  The Wizard of Oz offers a lot of characters, but Joey, Suzi and Jetski (#2) picked some solid costume choi...

Rights and lefts in abundance this morning as the kiddos got some nice waves and worked all the corners (#'s 1 & 2) Mostly sunny under partly cloudy skies with 20miles visibility.  The air was a chilly 52.5º and the water is 65.8º at the buoy.  High tide was at 9:51am +6.4' and low tide drains the playing field at 4:48pm -0.4'.  There's a west swell out of 281º at 3.6' and it was 3' to 4' with some good waves breaking through the high tide...  If you could catch them... Is there anyone ever having a better time than Sully (#3)?  We're thinking it's not likely... ✠ "When the surf breaks, we'll fix it" The Professor!!

T he Barahona International Team (#1) L to R:  Jah Morgan, Christian, Ché and Amado.  Amado just finished coming off a win in the South American Longboard Championships!  That's a freshy for Christian by-the-by. C lear skies and 20miles visibility.  Winds were offshore by 2 to 5kts.  The sea surface was smooth.  The air was a chilly 51.9º, but the water in the surfline was 67/68 belying the 66.7º at the buoy.  High tide was at 9:23am +6.2' and low tide is a -0.2' at 4:05pm.  Some serious minus tides for the rest of the week in the afternoons.  There's a SSW swell out of 198º at 2.6' and it was 2' to 3' with some snappy little lefts! C larke said he's go surfing when the water got warmer (#2).  Well, it got warmer and now it's getting colder.  But it's still so warm that Jah put on her wetsuit inside out.  No report if that made her cooler.  She's already pretty cool... T he "Bamboo Express" was in full flight (#1) as Jetski requested a privacy wall between him and the new interlopers on Bard St.  Well, it is on the second story and you don't want to wait too terribly long for things to get high enough to block those inquiring eyes...  This one measured 27'3"... I n Hermosa the surf lined up a bit better this morning than Sunday if you caught it earlier than later.  Nary a cloud in the sky and 20 miles visibility.  Winds were offshore and chilled by the 52.5º air.  The water on the other hand was a mild 68.0º and felt toasty compared to the air.  High tide was at 8:58am +5.9' and low tide will be at 3:25pm +0.2' for a healthy tidal swing.  We have a SSW swell out of 199º at 3.9' and it was 3' to 4'  with some outsides that meant business.  Y ou know you get to a certain age and you become a certifiable "Fall Risk."  Also if you surf the way the Professor does, it's inevitab...

Y es, that's what you think it is (#1).  It's an advisory to keep out of the water because of high bacteria count.  There were only three signs.  One south of the pier by 100' another 50' from the pier and a third 50' on the north side of the pier.  We're thinking that they only analyzed the water last week after the rain and they just got the results back.  Of course we've been in it continuously since it rained...  Like yesterday when we ran heats (#2).  The men's longboard heat had some of the best surfing we've seen all semester!  But it wasn't that accommodating when the crew hit the water and it was loading dock jumps as the tide went down.  Burnsy, Capitain Donaldo, the Professor, Brock and a couple of random folk all got worked in the slabbing conditions. T wo sunny days in a row (#1)!  With John the Booger on this little right out of the Office.No wind and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temperature was 58.9º and the water at the buoy was 64.9º, but 3 or four degrees warmer in the surf.  High tide was at 7:23am +4.1' and low tide was at 11:57am +3.4'.  We're enjoying a SW swell out of 231º at 2.0'.  And that was it as the morning crew got some sun and fun little ones... B amboo harvesting season is still underway and the Professor poses with a shoot (#2) that will be heading over to Jetski's for his privacy wall.  A couple more are waiting to be liberated (#3) and there are some nodes soaking in the basin waiting to be planted...
