Open Up Your Mind Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Ladies and gentlemen, hold on to your hats!  Here we present about 300 years of surfing experience checking out the surf on the Hermosa Pier.  From left to right:  Dave Dietz, Pat Ryan, Rasta Pete Georgiana, Joey Lombardo, Jimmy Thomas and the Professor.  Despite all that collective talent, the onshore was a bit too persistent for their taste...  Perhaps mañana...

Cloudy and about 10 miles visibility with that relentless onshore kicking up the chop and blowing variable to about 7kts.  Not cold though, 61.9˚ in the air and 65.3˚ in the water.  High tide was at 7:04am +6.6' and low tide will follow at 2:06pm -0.8'.  We have a blustery west swell out of 262˚ at 5.2' and the surf was a rugged 5' to 6'.  Not too many takers...

Tio Ted, in a rather reflective moment.  He's mending quickly, but going a tad stir-crazy in the process.  Drop by for a bit of chat...  He'd appreciate it!
