Lost Boys & Co... W hat has this man (#1) been smoking? Or eating? Well, that looks like a pozole mustache! It is pozole season and the mustaches are in... V isibility was a cool 20 miles this morning under clear skies. Winds were light offshore 1 to 5kts and the sea surface is smooth. The air was a below-brisk 49.9 º and the water is 62.4 º . Low tide started off the morning at 5:37am +2.1' and high tide was at 11:25am +5.1'. It's a west swell out of 264 º at 3.0' and it held all the way to the beach (#3) with some corners for the discrete. Lost Boys & Co... T here's a spot outside of about 14th St. that they call "Cable Cars." It only breaks when it's huge and then it might almost qualify as a tow-in spot. So to begin with it should be called "Red Cars" because that's what they sank there to create an artificial reef. The Pacific Electric Railroad was going the way of the dinosaurs and they had all of these Red Cars gathering dust. They sank a bunch of these, in what could be considered a relative underwater desert, then monitored the reef to see if it attracted fish. Well it did and it inspired J.G. and his crew to consider larger more stable reefs. It wasn't long before worms ate away most of the wood, but for years the steel wheels looked like pick-up-sticks on the bottom. W e could have used a reef this morning, or more accurately a swell. It was partly cloudy and visibility was 10 miles. Winds were out of the south 1 to 3kts freshening to 15kts by noon. Lots of bump...
Lost Boys & Co... T ired of hearing about the Straights of Hormuz... C loudy, gray (#1) and on shore winds 3 to 7kts. The sea surface is a bit tacked. The air temperature is 58.0 º and the water has risen to 60.1 º in an heroic attempt to lure us back into the sea. One low tide at 10:31am +1.0'. It's a 2.3' west swell out of 270 º and it's an inconsistent 2' to 3' on some of the new sand bars. B rother's of Hermosa (#2)... ✠ "When the surf breaks, we'll fix it" The Professor!!
