Monopoly Monday Surf & Culture Report
Lost Boys & Co...
This weekend saw some tides over the 7' mark which is pretty high for the South Bay (#1). Today tides back off with a +6.6' tide at 9:489am and a low of -0.9' at 5:26pm. Get your clam diggers on and see what's out there... Visibility is pretty much unlimited and skies are clear. Winds are offshore by 3 to 5kts and the sea surface is smooth. It was a chilly 47.9º at checkout and 60.3º in the water. We have a west swell out of 264º at 2.6' and since it's right in our wheelhouse, it was 3' to 4' and pretty fun by all accounts...
Our hero Christiano Von Stutzcanhang, made it all the way to the semis in the Pismo Beach "Surfing for Hope" WSL sanctioned event. He got first in all of his heats until the waves stopped cooperating in the semi final. One of the commentators admitted that Christiano is one of the most feared surfers on the tour. Everyone breathes a sigh of relief if they don't have to surf against him. Personally we'd rather surf with him... Congrats on a stellar performance!
