When the waves are small you have to make yourself r-e-a-l-l-y tiny to fit in just right and get the max amount of trim. (#1) Here we have the ever popular Burnsy getting small and making the most of this inside grinder. She persisted, making it all the way to the sand and stepping off to victory.
Meanwhile winds were out of the south this morning, before they turned offshore for about an hour. They bumped the surface and didn't help the shape any. They dropped the water temp from 59.2º to 57.9º and it didn't help that the air was a balmy 45.5º. Low tide was at 8:57am +3.2' and high tide will follow at 2:03pm +4.3'. It's a SW swell out of 230º at 3.3' and it was 3' to 4' and required a bit of patience to make it work...
The VEFA Art Gallery will be open Saturday the 23rd for an artist talk and meet and greet! The artist is Jud Hogan and his photography features low angle, freeze motion techniques of oceanscapes. It's on from 6pm to 8pm and there will be light refreshments! If you haven't seen the gallery or the surf exhibition make your way over to catch the show. The Gallery is between Carson St. and Sepulveda next to the Chic-fil-a.
