Fig Jam Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

A great All Star comp this morning, even though the conditions were not the best (#1).  It was cloudy and winds were out of the west 6 to 8kts.  The sea surface was sporting some heavy texture with a bit of high tide roll.  The air was 55.0º and the water is still trying at 59.9º.  High tide was right in the middle of things ay 8:08am +4.8' and l;ow tide follows at 2:07pm +0.2'.  The SSW swell out of 202º is still running at 3.3' and it was 3' to 5' with some ledgy outsides.

Some real standouts in this morning's comp with Dylan Morrisroe winning both the men's shortboard division and the men's longboard division!  Now you might have imagined that Dylan had might have had the odds in his favor in the shortboard division, but to translate that into a win in longboard division, that's something else.  He also had to beat his own team mates, Sheamus Swift, who came in second and CoCo Buffani, who ended up in third.  He did it by using his shortboard savvy to execute some stylish bottom turns and float some fat sections.  Truly a great performance!  Besides the one, two, three finish in the longboard division, Keani Honda Snow came in third in the Women's Shortboard, Abbey Bosse came in fourth and Umi Morimoto came in 5th.  In the Women's Longboard Soryn Preston came in 6th, the victim of deteriorating conditions and the high tide.

Knock and the door shall be opened (#2), if you know the password...
