Let's not go crazy yet, but it's beginning to almost look like summer.  It started out moist, almost drizzling with 4 miles visibility.  No wind and calm seas.  The air temperature was 63.8º and the water is trying at 69.4º.  High tide was more like medium at 8:40am +3.9' and low tide is at 12:58pm +2.7'.  Still a SSW swell out of 202º at 2.6' and it was a fun but slightly walled 2' to 3'.

Okay, so we're not quite sure how to say this, but it's true.  The Professor participated in a commercial for CoronaEmoji Beer, highlighting elderly folks who still fling themselves into the water.  There was certainly more flinging than drinking.  Anyway, we thought you might be amused so here it is (#1.)  Cheers!

Lost Boys & Co... W e talked about how much building is going on in China.  There are so many new bridges across the Yangtze that they haven't named them all yet!  There are between 50 and a hundred going up between Yichang and Chongqing alone.  In our first photo, the bridge and road are so new that the road crosses the bridge and then doesn't go anywhere!  We watched them welding the superstructure in #2 and to our amazement we watched a guy put on a belt with eyes on the hips and get hoisted up a couple of hundred feet to near the top of this tower.  No nets, no additional straps, no hat - just flying there with a portable welding rig, sparks flying.  We actually saw guys spot welding stuff without dark glasses!  There are some tough guys up there!  Dude, you like gotta have a hat... A beautiful morning, with a few big clouds bumping along and 20 miles visibility.  Winds started onshore from the crack and they were light at checkout...

Sometimes On Friday/Saturday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co... G reat group at Siblings Burrito Palace this morning! (#1)  Caroline joined us all the way from Atwater to catch a few gray ones. C loudy and 12 miles visibility.  Winds were light out of the south by 2 to 3kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temp was 58.0 º and the water was 61.5 º .  Low tide was at 8:26am -0.6' and high tide follows at 4:00pm +3.4'.  SSW swell out of 202 º at 2.6' and it was 3' and some sharp little gray grinders... S mall surf doesn't have to mean lousy surf.  Here (#2) we have Sheamus Swift showing what you can do when you put your mind to it.  Sheamus got first place in the longboard division against Mira Costa on Thursday! ✠ "When the surf breaks, we'll fix it" The Professor!!

Another Foggy Friday Surf & Culture Report
