Queen Of The Night Thursday Surf & Culture Report
Lost Boys & Co...
Looks like this (#1) was taken from a Dutch still-life. Actually this is a "Queen of the Night" plant that only opens it's blossoms at night. It's on the patio at our Mar de Fuego estate and was a gift from the ever popular Dane DeLuca. Despite messing with our bed time we made the effort to capture the bloom at it's fullest. Why does it open at night? Because it's pollinated by bats and moths! We sent a message to the Batman to open the cave... You might have seen it in the sky...
Whoa! Three summer days in a row! Hazy though and only 5 miles visibility this morning. Winds were calm, but the sea surface still had a bit of roll to it. The air was 63.9º and the water was a delightful 71.2º. High tide was at 9:39am +4.5' and low tide follows at 2:38pm +2.0'. Still that SSW swell out of 195º at 3.0',but it was a little fatter than that and we'll call it 3' to 4' and could have been peakier...
Swim this afternoon around 2:30pm at Sapphire for some body surfing and lounging...
