How Can We Tell It’s Fall In Southern California
1. You wear log pants until 7:30 and then you put on your shorts.
2. There’s a tree (one tree) in Veteran’s Park whose leaves have turned from green to yellow.
3. The ocean temperature has dropped from 74º to 71º.
4. You start looking for your 3/2 short armed, long legged wetsuit.
5. Halloween candy and decorations have been on the shelves since August. Now Michael’s has Christmas decor in store. (Note: There will still be Halloween stuff even through Christmas for “Scary Christmas.”)
6. Time to look for your beanie and hoody combo.
7. You check to see if Pozole is on the menu at Brothers. (Note: Actually that’s a sign of winter.)
8. People wonder when is Thanksgiving and is it still a holiday??
9. There’s dust on the patio furniture.
10. As of today you can start wearing Ugg boots.

Well we're NOT in Idaho and it's cloudless and 25+ miles visibility. Winds were offshore at checkout and the sea surface is smooth. The air was 64.3º and the water is 72.9º. High tide was at 7:12am +4.3' and low tide will. be at 12:30pm +2.7'. It's a SW swell out of 221º that looks like it's picking up a bit of west. It was 3.9' and a solid 3' dumping on the sand...
Okay, it's that time of year when we raise money for the Surf Team (#2) at Redondo. We're the only team that doesn't get any money from the school and we pay our own way for snacks at the contests, swag and our team dinner at the end of the year (which happened to be at the Palm Springs Wave Pool, because of your generosity!)
