Thwack A Thursday Surf & Culture Report
Lost Boys & Co...
Things don't always work out the way you like. Like this morning when the Redondo Seahawks lost to Mira Costa. Redondo lead for most of the contest and suddenly 'Costa woke up. Some of the RUHS standouts were:
1st: Tyler Anderson, Dylan Morrisroe, Keani Honda-Snow, Sheamus Swift and Jake Kislinger.
2nd: Soren Roed, Umi Morimoto and Giselle Dellaripa.
After all those stellar performances it was MCHS 76 to RUHS 71.
15 miles visibility under cloudy skies. Winds were light out of the SE by 1 to 3kts and the sea surface was smooth. The air temp was 57.0º and the water is 61.5º. Low tide was at 7:16am -1.0' and high tide follows at 2:22pm +3.3'. We have a SSW swell out of 195º at 2.6' and that's about the size of it...
Just as we were ready to hit "SEND" we got a disturbing text from Anupa telling us that in a conversation with colleagues at the Marine Mammal Center, one third of the sea lions (#2) being found have bullets in them! Apparently all of those assholes who have been making comments about open season on sea lions for stealing their fish are armed. Before there were people around there were lots of sea lions and lots of fish. They were all pretty happy. Then man entered the equation and as near as we can tell everything went to hell. Can't say were surprised. Hell people shoot people, why should they stop there?..
