Takayama Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

We knew there was Donald Takayama and even hung around his shop where "Just Poke" is now, but we didn't know that there was a Takayama, Japan.  Well, all those Takayama's had to come from someplace and this was as good a spot as any.  On our wandering around the town, we ran across these little replicas of the Professor's bus (#1).  We imagined that if you put a handle on the top you could check it as luggage.

Here in the South Bay there were clear skies and 5 miles visibility.  Winds were initially offshore 1 to 3kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temperature was 53.9º and the water at the swimming buoy was 67.0º.  High tide was at 9:19am +5.9' and low tide will be at 4:06pm +0.1'.  We have a SW swell out of 235º at 3.3' Band it was 1' to 3' and breaking pretty close to shore.  We elected to paddle and stretch a bit.

(#2) Was our room.  During the day this table sat in the middle of the space.  At dinner they came in and put down the sleeping futons and set a pair of pajamas on the end of the futon.  If you can sleep without having your head elevated you're great, if not they supply enough pillows to make you comfortable.
