When In Germany (Or Austria For That Matter) Wednesday Surf & Culture Report
Lost Boys & Co...
There are certain rules that you have to follow when you are in the "Fatherland." Everyday at 3pm you must find a "konditerei" and stop in for a piece of cake, strudel or pie for the afternoon respite. NOW, this is also when you have your first beer or gluhwein of the day. The beer seems to be lighter and every konditerei has its own version. We are not beer drinkers by any stretch, but we are also not going to buck tradition. Gluhwein is hot fruit punch (or Aperol or mulled wine or cider) heated to sipping hotness. When it's cold outside (and it is), one of these will warm the cockles of your heart and have you thinking that you might need another. One of these is good for strolling, two has you singing carols and three, you suddenly think you need to buy all those kitchie souvenirs for the folks back home…
Speaking of back home, it's a bit hazy on the cams with a half a mile visibility. Winds are out of the ESE by 2kts and the sea surface is smooth. The air temperature is 59.1 and the water is 63.7. High tide was at 6:56am +5.7' and low tide will be at 2:26pm -0.3'. It's a WSW swell at 2.0' and it's a reported 2' to 3' and fair.
We'll be heading out to the ski town(s) of Garmisch-Partenkirchen tomorrow and we're not very hopeful that we'll find much snow. However, you know where to find us at 3pm!
