Viva Maria Monday Surf & Culture Report
Lost Boys & Co...
It was bound to happen. B.B. has finally exited stage left. Yep, Bridget Bardot, symbol of the sexual revolution, animal rights activist and 5 times convicted for hate speech died on the 28th in Saint Tropez, France. Here she is (#1) with Jeanne Moreau in "Viva Maria," which we thought was her best film. Maybe because it was 1965 and we got in the Fox Redondo and it was the double feature with "Thunderball" the James Bond flick and holy smokes it's Bridget Bardot! Even though she got whackier as she got older, the French still think she propelled French cinema to international renown.
A beautiful morning in the South Bay with 20 miles visibility under sunny skies. The sea surface is smooth with winds out of the east by 4kts. 58.5 degrees in the air and 62.6 in the water. Low. Tide is at 11:45am +0.4' and high tide will be at 5:53pm +3.0'. It's a west swell out of 263deg. at 2.3' and that's about the size of things. Calling for rain on Wednesday mid-morning so get in your paddling to stay loose for the weekend…
Still working on New Year's Eve plans! Rain might scotch Vista (how much room is there inside?), but we're checking some alternatives! Stay tuned!
