Trying To Remain Composed Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Catching this turquoise right was Soryn( #1), getting some extra style points for this causal arm extension to get ready for the second drop through the mid-wave zone.  The longboarders took advantage of their superior paddling speed to get into some of these a tad earlier than the shortboarders, also to glide through the almost imperceptible flat spot in the middle...

A beautiful morning here in the South Bay.  Sunshine, lollipops and roses were visible up to 11 miles under blue skies.  Winds were light, off and on and the sea surface was smooth.  The air was 60.5º, warming quickly and the water is 62.2º.  Low tide was at 6:20am -1.5' and high tide was at 1:11pm +3.6'.  It's a week of low tides in the morning so get ready to go fast or wait as late as you can get away with.  It's a 3.3' west swell out of 260º and it was a thumping 3' to 4' with some stray weeds in the water.

Hair flying in the wind Makayla drops into this corner.  In Hawaii they have  a surf spot called "Off the Wall."  In Palm Springs they have a literal wall.  Stay off the wall!
