Lost Boys & Co...

Okay, take a look at this South Bay Surf Shop ad from the dim foggy past.  Two things that caught our eye:  One, was that Richard Deese was the shaper, but this wasn't him in the photo!  Who's the guy (#1) ogling the tunnel skag.  He was also the shop manager...  (Answer below)

Interesting weather this morning looking like it might rain.  Partly cloudy with variable winds sometimes offshore and sometimes not.  The sea surface was smooth.  The air seemed chilly at 58.1º and the water is trying at 61.2º.  High tide was at 9:00am +3.5' and low tide follows at 1:43pm +1.9'.  It was a 3.0' SSW swell out of 200º and it was a inconsistent 3', with patience being rewarded.  Ask A-Aron...

paddle out for Keoni Boyd last Saturday with everyone who ever had a ding or needed a cool airbrush job showing up. (#2) Bobby Warchola gave a heartfelt tribute and Jose Barahona and Don Kadawaki showed off one of Keoni's signature airbrush jobs.  He was a legit master of the craft...

The manager of the South Bay Surf Shop was none other than John Lenninger!  They not only had tunnel skags, but "wishbone" skags that went the other way.  We actually had a bodyboard with a tunnel skag.  It looked like the first three feet of a regular pig.  Great for knocking the wind out of you when you went over the falls...

Side Effects:  Bruised ribs, concussion-like symptoms, odd shaped cuts and abrasions, parasitic events and stupefying burning of the feet...
