Somewhere In The Black Hills Of Idaho Surf & Culture Report
Lost Boys & Co...
Looks like a real fall day in the South Bay. Drizzle/rain and 8 miles visibility under cloudy skies. Winds are light out of the NNE by 2 to 4th and the sea surface is smooth. At the moment given all that warm Mexican air it's 70º and the water is 69.3º. High tide is at 8:0am +4.7' and low tide will follow at 1:59pm +1.8'. We have, no surprise, a SSW swell out of 204º at 3.0' and it's 1 to almost 3' at our local spots.
Today we're featuring Hans "Lego Man" Geiger. When he first started surfing the pier, we were a bit skeptical, but he quickly earned his place in the line-up really shining on some of the bigger more radical days. Turns out he's from the Big Island and was a juniors champ and surfed with some of the big Hawaiian names. Always great to see him in the water and by the way he throws a great party! If he could just figure out the helmet thing…
We're busting some moves up in Idaho for the long weekend and we'll be back on Monday. No class on Monday, it's Rosh Hashannah, so Let's check the pier!
