Who's Your Best Friend Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

We're going to blame auto correct on Jeff Neal being sent out as "Oneal."  We also found out from Deacon Jim that his services will be October 8th at 2pm graveside at Green Hills Cemetery.  The information booth will direct you to the site.

Cloudy this morning with a hint of drizzle and almost 10 miles visibility.  Winds were out of the north by 2 to 5kts and the sea surface was sporting a bit of texture.  The air temp was 66.3º and the water is 69.6º.  Definitely feeling a bit fallish, despite the date.  Low tide at 5:37am +1.4' and high tide follows at 12:01pm +6.0'.  It's a SSW swell out of 212º at 3.0' and it was 2' to 3' in the surfline and if you were jonesing for some waves, you could'a nabbed a couple...

"Who's your best friend?"  Yeah, there's your significant other, your doggy, maybe a high school or college pal.  But if you're a surfer the answer is "Your Board."  If you take care of it, it'll take care of you.  Waxed and ready to go?  Bottom clean?  Dings repaired?  Leash in good shape?  Securely attached in or on top of your car?  We're thinking we'll run this by the students in the surf class.  We're sure they'll have some other points like, "If you're going to be staying at your dad's, make sure you take your board from mom's house with you."  AND your wetsuit...  (#1) Having it match your whip is optional...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it"
