See those swimmers out there (#1)...  We went in with them... for about 15 minutes.  Jumping over waves, body surfing and dunking in a most nonathletic way.  They went out there, swam for 45 minutes and when they came in, we kinda strutted around them in our wet trunks, trying to absorb some of their reflected ability.

Cloudy this morning breaking up when it felt like it.  Winds were alternately from the south and southeast 3 to 6kts and the sea surface was tacked up a bit.  The air was 69.0º and the water is supposed to be 71.4º, but we're here to report that MAYBE it was 68.0º.  Low tide was really low at 6:20am -0.8' and high tide follows at 12:53pm +4.7'.  It's a 3.0' SW swell out of 232º and it was 2' to 3' and breaking in long lines until it couldn't...

Here we have the Monday night crew (#2) venturing out to the "SLIP" (Vermin had apparently eaten one of the busboys at Capt. Kidd's.) on the International Boardwalk, which is about as domestic as hamburgers, which several of us ordered.  They did not drain all the beer like the Scots did, but did make off with all of the Ranch Dressing.  The SLIP is a good choice for happy hour dining, until they start the karaoke portion of the evening.  Note:  You are not allowed, it is illegal and wrong to karaoke the WHO...

Lost Boys & Co... W hat has this man (#1) been smoking?  Or eating?  Well, that looks like a pozole mustache!  It is pozole season and the mustaches are in... V isibility was a cool 20 miles this morning under clear skies.  Winds were light offshore 1 to 5kts and the sea surface is smooth.  The air was a below-brisk 49.9 º and the water is 62.4 º .  Low tide started off the morning at 5:37am +2.1' and high tide was at 11:25am +5.1'.  It's a west swell out of 264 º at 3.0' and it held all the way to the beach (#3) with some corners for the discrete.  Conditions meshed pretty well for some good sessions. panorama, pre-sunrise, (#2) from the lifeguard headquarters to the end of PV.  Some of these winter morning make for spectacular sunrises...  A  ✠ "When the surf breaks, we'll fix it" The Professor!!

Pecking Order Thursday Surf & Culture Report

W hat we have here (above) is Doc drawing our attention to a hapless paddler who, first, jumped in by the tower and is now somewhere near 4th St.  He then proceeded to get caught in a rip, pushed into an outside set that tested his leash and his resolve. He managed to get back in to shore, but needed a few minutes to gather himself... J umbled conditions from the winds last night and they're predicted to blow again today and this evening.  Currently its anywhere from 6 to 20kts and the sea surface is chopped up.  The air was chilly this morning at 47.5 º  and the water is 62.4 º , but that might drop with these winds.  Low tide at 6:46am +2.1' and high tide follows at 112:17pm +4.2'.  It's a blustery west swell out of 268 º  at 6.6' and it looks like about 4' to 7' with the wind knocking down some of the peaks.  Swell looks strong though and if the winds change it could be good... Gays Of Hormuz Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co... T ired of hearing about the Straights of Hormuz... C loudy, gray (#1) and on shore winds 3 to 7kts.  The sea surface is a bit tacked.  The air temperature is 58.0 º  and the water has risen to 60.1 º  in an heroic attempt to lure us back into the sea.  One low tide at 10:31am +1.0'.  It's a 2.3' west swell out of 270 º  and it's an inconsistent 2' to 3' on some of the new sand bars.
