Wanted to clarify part of the image we ran yesterday (#1). We mainly wanted to note the disparity between the listed conditions and the actual ocean and atmospheric temps on the left. But on the right hand side of the photo was a diagram depicting rip currents and how to successfully navigate them. Some readers thought this described a mushroom cloud and the ensuing vortexes. Apparently the person on the top off the cloud was being blown to kingdom come. Clearly we are not suggesting that one might "swim" out of such an event...
More gray, limited visibility, less than 5 miles and fog/haze/overcast. Nagging winds out of the west by 3 to 6kts and the sea surface is nicked. The air was 63.0
