Massey-Ferguson Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Wanted to clarify part of the image we ran yesterday (#1).  We mainly wanted to note the disparity between the listed conditions and the actual ocean and atmospheric temps on the left.  But on the right hand side of the photo was a diagram depicting rip currents and how to successfully navigate them.  Some readers thought this described a mushroom cloud and the ensuing vortexes.  Apparently the person on the top off the cloud was being blown to kingdom come.  Clearly we are not suggesting that one might "swim" out of such an event...

More gray, limited visibility, less than 5 miles and fog/haze/overcast.  Nagging winds out of the west by 3 to 6kts and the sea surface is nicked.  The air was 63.0º and the water is 62.1º.  Low tide was at 7:44am +-0.0' and high tide follows at 3:05pm +3.5'.  It's a SW swell out of 230º at 3.9' and it's a closed out, blustery 3' to 4'...

We don't exactly know how to break this to you, but we thought it might be better if you read it here first and not through some unvetted source.  We did NOT get this information third hand, but from an individual who has direct knowledge of the particulars.  SPACE ALIENS.  They will be making contact next year.  That's all we can say at the moment, but when we know more, be confident you'll be the second to know.  Also we're not at liberty to discuss image #2, although we can say it comes from Coach Avery.
