Chalk It Up To Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

More gray out there this morning with 10 miles visibility and winds out of the south 2 to 6kts.  The sea surface was textured.  The air temp was 61.0º and the water is 61.2º (more on that later.)  Low tide was at 7:00am -0.2' and high tide followed at 2:11pm +3.3'.  It's a SSW swell out of 198º at 3.6' and it was a crashy 3' to 4'.  This group (#1) of soft-topped chargers were hell bent on amusing the folks on the pier.  Proving there are endless ways to go over the falls...

Bobby Warchola is fond of railing on the Lifeguards for not posting the surf conditions or posting erroneous stats.  We had to agree with him this morning when they posted the air as 68º and the water as 65º (#2).  In their defense they did get the rip tide stuff right.  Although they didn't mention that, by the time you swim out of the rip you are pretty far out.  That's why they invented lifeguards!
