Don't Give Up The Ship Friday Surf & Culture Reort

Lost Boys & Co...

We didn't know where "Don't give up the ship!" came from, but you can look up anything on the internet:
It was the famous line delivered by Captain James Lawrence, who commanded USS Chesapeake in 1813 when it engaged in a naval battle with HMS Shannon during the War of 1812. In the battle, Lawrence was mortally wounded. As his men carried him below, he ordered:
"Don't give up the ship."
So, don't.
What can one photo of the surf (#1) tell us about the conditions?  First it's cloudy skies with rain on the horizon.  Winds are offshore at 5 to 14kts, blowing some fabulous manes.  It looks chilly and it was 54.0º and the water is 64.6º.  Looks a little full because the tide is high at 8:33am +6.0' and low tide follows at 4:05pm -0.3'.  It's an erratic combo swell periodically out of the N/NNE/S and SSW at 4.6'.  You can see that it's 4' to 5'+ and some beautiful waves if you don't mind some run-off.
Nupes, LoLa and Sancho (#2) checking the gnar...
