Many A Kelp Monday Surf & Culture Report
Lost Boys & Co...
Coming down from the Riviera Alps and descending into the foggy bottom land (#1). Visibility was predictably limited at about the length of the Hermosa Pier. Winds were light onshore 0 to 1kt and the sea surface was smooth. Not because the wind was light but also because the kelp floating around inside kept everything oily calm. Good idea to surf with out a leash. The air was 57.1º and the water is 65.7º. Low tide was at 5:53am +3.2' and high tide was at 12:08pm +5.6'. It was a SSW swell out of 201º at 2.3' and it was a minestrone 2' to 3' and excellent paddling exercise because of the 40lbs of seaweed you're dragging along.
Some of our younger buddies who made Saturday's bombers look good (#2). L to R: Nate, Chris, Yonas and Casey. These guys are fun to surf with and their stoke is contagious! Yonas is visiting from Finland and we have christened him the Finnish National Champ.
