Knock On Wood Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Do you know how many Santa Lucia's there are?  We got this hat (#1) in one of the more far-flung St. Lucia's.  You can zoom in on the latitude and longitude and figure it out...

It was 45 on the way to the beach this morning, but this quote put it in perspective...
"Bummed it's getting dark out so early? Spare a thought for the people living in Utqiagvik, Alaska, 330 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Yesterday at 1:36pm local time, the sun set…and it won't rise again until January 22. For 64 days, residents will be living in what's known as polar night.  On the bright side: Over the course of the entire year, Utqiagvik will experience the same amount of daylight as Miami, or any other place on Earth, because we all get roughly the same number of hours of sunlight across 365 days. In Utqiagvik, the sun will rise in mid-May and won't set until August."
Clear cold skies and brisk offshore winds 3 to 7kts.  Smooth sea surface.  The water is still holding up at 64.9º.  High tide was at 7:42am +6.1' and low tide will be at 2:56pm -0.3'.  It's a SSW swell out of 204º at 3.0' and it was 3' to 4' and some of those sweeping high tide lines...

Tamara was out there this morning (#2) and on this late-ish takeoff she made it all the way to the Pride Tower.  If you're thinking 4/3 wetsuit you might visit her at Spyder on PCH...
