Watch out who you hang out with in high school because you might find yourself skiing with them like 50 years later.  Yeah, it's Tim, Frank and Brian up at Brundage causing problems wherever they go.  To their credit they did help those folks who ran off the road, but everyone else would say something like, "Oh you guys again…"

Beautiful morning in the South Bay, with good visibility under a hazy sun.  Winds are out of the west by 1 to 2kts and the sea surface is smooth.  The air is 59.6º and the water is 59.9º.  With a little sun we might see it hit 60 again.  High tide early at 4:34am +5.3' and low tide follows at 12:27pm -0.8'.  There's a west swell out of 261º at 3.0'and it's 3' to 4' and could be a fine day to exercise your chops.

Our sympathies to Clarke who lost his sister this week.  He needs a hug!

Lost Boys & Co... W e talked about how much building is going on in China.  There are so many new bridges across the Yangtze that they haven't named them all yet!  There are between 50 and a hundred going up between Yichang and Chongqing alone.  In our first photo, the bridge and road are so new that the road crosses the bridge and then doesn't go anywhere!  We watched them welding the superstructure in #2 and to our amazement we watched a guy put on a belt with eyes on the hips and get hoisted up a couple of hundred feet to near the top of this tower.  No nets, no additional straps, no hat - just flying there with a portable welding rig, sparks flying.  We actually saw guys spot welding stuff without dark glasses!  There are some tough guys up there!  Dude, you like gotta have a hat... A beautiful morning, with a few big clouds bumping along and 20 miles visibility.  Winds started onshore from the crack and they were light at checkout...

Sometimes On Friday/Saturday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co... G reat group at Siblings Burrito Palace this morning! (#1)  Caroline joined us all the way from Atwater to catch a few gray ones. C loudy and 12 miles visibility.  Winds were light out of the south by 2 to 3kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temp was 58.0 º and the water was 61.5 º .  Low tide was at 8:26am -0.6' and high tide follows at 4:00pm +3.4'.  SSW swell out of 202 º at 2.6' and it was 3' and some sharp little gray grinders... S mall surf doesn't have to mean lousy surf.  Here (#2) we have Sheamus Swift showing what you can do when you put your mind to it.  Sheamus got first place in the longboard division against Mira Costa on Thursday! ✠ "When the surf breaks, we'll fix it" The Professor!!

Adventurous Trial Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

O vercast today (why should it be any different than yesterday?) 7 miles visibility.  Winds were light onshore, 1 to 3kts and the sea was more textured that it should have been.  The air temperature was 64.3 º  and the water is 67.6 º .  High tide was at 9:27am +3.8' and low tide will be at 1:40pm +2.9'.  There's a south swell (which should tell you something right there) out of 199 º  at 2.3' and it was 1' to 2' and poor.
