So just about the time we walked out on the pier there was this gust of wind that tipped the KYHC anemometer (#1) at 39kts, which is 45mph!  It blew all of the fishermen off the pier (#2) and swept them down the beach to the harbor.  It did, however, create this marvelous Saharan landscape (#3) that is still smoothing things out.

It was 10 miles visibility through hazy blowing sand out of the north by 20 to almost 40kts.  The sea surface was windswept and blown out.  The air temp was 53.6º and the water is holding at 59.7º.  High tide is at 10:03am +4.7' and low tide follows at 4:07pm +0.4'.  It's a west swell out of 274º at 4.6' and it's probably 4' to 6', but almost impossible to gauge with the wind...
