No Extraterrestrials In The Lineup Friday Surf & Culture Report
Lost Boys & Co...
No extraterrestrials were seen in the lineup this morning. There were two women, Doc and the Professor and that was it. They did, however, leave this message (#1) on the Strand. It was written in sand so it didn't last very long, but the intent is/was pretty clear.
Clear skies and all that wind yesterday turned around and blew softly from the east at 1 to 3kts. The sea surface was smooth. The air was a chilly 49.9º and the water is 59.4º. Doc kept insisting it was colder, but maybe not. High tide was at 10:42am +4.1' and low tide followed at 4:28pm +0.9'. It's a west swell out of 273º at 3.3' and it was 3' to almost 4' and got a little better during the rising tide and then began shutting down. Like it does. Look for that window mañana if the wind cooperates.
Found this note (#2) that said something like, "There are these old guys in Hermosa who can't see or hear. Do not take off near them! They are a danger to you and themselves."
Nothing lonelier than a ski jump after the Olympics (#3). Steve is looking at the main jump, but the junior run on the left looks nearly as intimidating...
