Metoposcopic Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Metoposcopic - there's a word that rolls off the tongue and tries to roll back.  "Judging a persons character by looking at their face."  We've been doing this for years with poor to dismal results.  But we thought you looked okay... in the right light...

A beautiful day with basically unlimited visibility (#1).  Winds were light offshore to calm and the sea surface had a weird waffling to it with a lot of backwash, that actually made for some pretty spectacular bounces.  The air was 47.7º and the water is 60.8º.  Still respectably warm for this time of year.  Low tide is at 12:16pm +0.7' and high tide will be at 7:07pm +2.9'.  Mostly a west swell out of 263º at 2.0' and it was 2' to 3' with a continuing run of ankle breakers...

A snorkel day at Rat yesterday with 'Nupes leading the charge.  It never fails, she always brings up some of the most interesting things.  Among other things she pointed out octopuses, brittle stars, sea slugs and this great old abalone shell (#2).  In the right light it's absolutely jewel-like!  The photo doesn't quite do it justice...
