Good Is The Enemy Of Great Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

It's (#1) got palm trees, bamboo writing, Tikis (with various grimaces), a sunset and tribal pinstriping.  This would be perfect on Kalakawa Blvd., but no, it's on Chinden Ave. in Boise, Idaho.  How they got that across the Pacific we'll never know.

Looked like it might happen later...  It was like this.  Cloudy with 7 miles visibility.  Winds were light offshore in the 1 to 3kt. range and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temp was 55.5º and the water at the orange buoy was 62.5º.  Really high tide at 7:29am +7.1' and a really low tide follows at 2:56pm -1.9'.  It's a west swell out of 269º at 3.0' and it was 2' to 3' slappers on the beach.  But the tide was dropping and it looked like it might start breaking a bit farther out.  Doc and Lego-Man gave it a go, along with various boogers, but it was only the boogies that got serious.

Was a great low tide yesterday (#2) afternoon with painterly clouds and a dynamic sun.  We tweeked the image a bit to get those reds and greens and it made for a fun pic...
