Navanax Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Behold the Navanax (#1), commonly referred to as a "sea slug."  Nupes gingerly removed this little slug from a crevasse in the rock for our inspection.  To satisfy it's voracious appetite the right hand side is mostly mouth.  It needs to grow quickly to prevent hungry predators from making it a meal.  In the midst of all the anemones, rock and kelp, how 'Nupes spotted this little guy is nothing short of astounding...

7 Miles visibility this morning with a fog bank lurking offshore (in fact by the time you read this it might be attacking the shore on little cats feet.)  Winds were offshore, light at 1 to 3kts.  The sea surface was smooth.  the air temperature was 50.0º and the water, remarkably is still 61.5º.  High tide was at 9:25am +5.9' and low tide will be at 4:32pm -0.8'.  It's a west swell out of 263º at 3.0' and the surf was at least 3' with bigger outsides.  The only problem is that there are almost no sandbars.  Swells approach and then turn into endless lines with no corners.  Frustrating to say the least...

For those who ordered calendars, the order is out and we should be getting them any day...
