Move Over Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

The Hermosa Pier Promenade was crowded with the eager and curious as the USA took off to an early lead over Ghana in the World Cup.  We must admit that we didn't see anyone as eager and curious as Tio Clark!  No question about his support for the red, white and blue.  It must have been effective, since after the Ghanians tied things at 1 to 1, the US came back to finish the match 2 to 1.

A bit of a westerly swell this morning with partly cloudy skies and 10 to 12 miles visibility.  Winds started out onshore, variable to 3kts and the sea surface had a light chop.  The air temperature was 59.5˚ and the water was 66.7˚ at the buoy and a posted 69˚ at the Hermosa Pier.  Low tide was at 6:42am -1.0' and high tide was at 1:21pm +4.4'.  We have a WSW swell out of 255˚ at 3.0' and it was an honest 3' with some outside fatties...  Maybe more mañana...
