Lost Boys & Co... As per usual, surfing is also about who you're in the water with...  We surfed "Flies" this morning with Uncle Chris Miloe...  we had the best time and some great waves. When we got out of the water our ladies had gotten us Spam Misubi and one dessert!  We some lucky buggahs! 🌊🏄🏽🏄🏽🏄🏽🌊🌴🤙🏾 "When the surf breaks, we'll fix it" The Professor!!

Lost Boys & Co... L ooks like the Professor (#1) spent too much time in Dallas...  Did he ride horseback or back on a horse?  (Thanks to Kawika Ching for the frame-grab) SUN!   Yes, we finally had one of those sunny morning's we've all read about.  Visibility was 15 miles.  Winds were out of the SW by 3kts and the seas surface was smooth for the most part.  The air temp was 61.0 and the water is 64.4.  High tide was early at 5:38am +3.5' and low tide follows at 11:42am +1.0'.  We have a SW swell out of 216º at 3.3' and there were some sunlit little zippers to ride... I n photo #2 we have Guru José Barahona and his acolyte the recently graduated Jah Morgan.  Meanwhile in #3 Yoshi and LoLa snuggle for a little warmth and Doc Scale peeks from under his blanket.  A small group gathered to fete Jah Morgan's academic accomplishments at the Sea Level Bar.  Considering rising seas, maybe Tarzan could use that for the name of his new place in Dallas?  ( photo credi

Lost Boys & Co... I n his defense, he (photo #1) stayed up all night watching the French Open...  Actually, we were wondering how he got those rose colored high-lights...  Couldn't be the glasses... M eanwhile, it was supposed to start out sunny this morning, but apparently no one notified the weather.  Overcast and 9 miles visibility.  Winds were out of the SE by 5kts and the sea surface was smooth until about 10.  The air temp was 61.0 and the water is 63.7 with a couple of warm spots south of the pier.  Low tide was at 10:58am +0.9' and high tide follows late at 5:57pm +4.5'.  We have a SSW swell out of 207º at 3.3' and it was just about that with some nice thick outsides before the tide and wind made it fast and bumpier...  Could be fun mañana... Y ou've probably wondered how we get all these amazing photographs in the LBS&CR...  The use of multiple cameras is one of our tricks...  In photo #2 we have Jetski taking this shot of a bird, the Professor ta

Lost Boys & Co... For your consideration, photo #1 showing the surf, the June Gloom and a few hardy souls trying to make it look good.  In all fairness the morning started out a tad less windy at 3.3kts from the SW and those ripple developed over the next hour or so.  Looks like 5 miles visibility and the overcast is pretty close to the deck.  The air temperature was 61.5 and the water is trying at 63.9.  Low tide is at 10:08am +0.8' and high tide is at 5:26pm +4.1'.  We are enjoying a SW swell out of 216º at 3.3' and it's the advertised 3' to 4'...  Against all odds it's supposed to be sunny tomorrow - we'll check it out, but don't be surprised by the gray... "Why do they call him Jimmy Utah, Daddy?" Didn't we just see this guy in Dallas?  Michael "Tarzan" Leko on one of his fact finding missions to the South Bay.  This time he's looking for cool beach themed names for his bar in Dallas.  We're not sure if "

Tenuous Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co... T here was a lot going on in photo #1...  First of all Scarlett Lee in her pink cowgirl hat was driving this Amarillo pinto for all it was worth.  She had her heels dug in and was posting to keep her diaper in the saddle and had a hank of mane to steer the whole show...  On the back, in the chariot, Miss Lily was waving to the eager and curious as they flew through the stockyards...  H eavy overcast this morning and 7 miles visibility.  Winds were early out of the SE by 4.8kts and the sea surface had some tack.  The air temperature was 61.3 and the water is 63.5 at the buoy.  Low tide was at 9:15am +0.6' and high tide will be at 4:47pm +3.8'.  We have a 2.6' WNW swell out of 283º and it was 2' to 3' this morning and there were some quick ones before the wind came up... T wice a day they parade these longhorns through what remains of the Fort Worth stockyards.  Kinda reminds you of Cannery Row in Monterey, California where they've turned t

More Than A Mustache Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co... S o, obviously the longhorn cattle are impressive, but the mustache on this drover caught our eye...  The Professor looked over at LoLa and before he could say anything she said, "Don't even think about it buckaroo!" H azy sun this morning and 10 miles visibility.  Winds were out of the SE by 3.5kts and the sea surface had a bit of tack to it as the wind changed.  The air temperature was 61.5 and the water is 62.1 and trying... Low tide was at 8:20am +0.4' and high tide will be at 3:52pm +3.6'.  We have a SW swell out of 229º at 2.6' and it was 2' to 2.5' with some cute little twisters...  supposed to be a tad bigger mañana... W here on earth do you suppose this could be?  Well, it's obviously Laurel Tavern, but this one happens to be in Dallas, Texas down in the Greenville area.  The place was hopping and Michael took us on a tour of the Greenville area.  If you thought it might be all boots and hats, you'd probably be
