Lost Boys & Co... E ditor's Note:  I'm going to first apologize for anyone who got a message from me via "Snap Raise" to raise money for the Redondo Surf Team.  I wanted to write a personal note, but my unfamiliarity with the site caused me to send out all my addresses with some boilerplate note.  That being said, the Surf Team is raising money and your donations will go a long way in making our program successful.  I tried to tag folks who have some connection to the school, being alumni, local surfers or part of the Familia.  Thank you for your consideration and if you want to help and you didn't get a note, go to http://raise.snap.app/join_code/923414119 and make your donation!  You guys are the best!  Coach Frank M orning dawned clear and cool with some lingering fog on the outside.  Winds were calm and seas were glassy (#1).  The air temp was 55.0º and the water is a Fallish 65.3º.  One tide today at 12:56pm +4.8'.  We have a SW swell out of 219º

Next Year A Garibaldi Costume Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co... S omehow we neglected to print Kevin Gilligan's photo (#1) of the "Spooky Surf" crew.  From L. to R. we have Burnsy, Toph, Scout and Zac as tourists who didn't know that it was against the law to bring your dog to the beach.  So someone called Superman (Aaron) to come down and spirit them away.  But before the "Man of Steel™" could concentrate on the doggie he got distracted by using his X-Ray vision to not only see through Anuba's and C-Missle's clothes, but down to their bones!  Jah Minion came to hang five with the Unicorn/Seahorse/Christiano.  No wait, Christiano was there with the Tin Man (Larry Dairy) and Psychedelic "Doc" Einstein.  A curious crew, but fun and funny...  Next year we're thinking a Garibaldi costume... T here were more Garibaldi in the harbor than we saw at Catalina!  It was clear enough to see them because the sun was shining bright and the winds were offshore 3 to 4kts, leaving the surface u

Lost Boys & Co... " W hen the surf is uncooperative, the uncooperative go paddling."  Here (#1) we have the crew, Jah, Tarsan, Ronnie, LoLa, Burnsy and the Professor plying the waters of King Harbor and beyond for a little diversion due to lack of surf.  To her credit Jah kept her streak alive by galloping into some knee slappers at Ainsworth, while LoLa and Burnsy scampered down to the jetty and back.  Tarsan and the Professor threw caution to the wind and shot the Monstadt, Horseshoe and Kincaid's piers in one fell swoop and managed to escape without raising much attention.  W hy all this hoomalimali?  Because even though the day was sunny and bright, winds were offshore and conditions were glassy, it was flat as a flannel cake.  The air was 58.8º as the crew pushed off, but rapidly warmed as they headed into the sunlight.  The water is 64.6º and only Tarsan braved the chill.  It's a SW swell out of 225º at 2.3' and it was less than half that on the sand.
